^ Does using just acoustic foam under your speakers work well as iso pads? I'm in the process of putting together some myself - looking at the different options...nice setup

I think the density of the material could be a factor, perhaps the foam intended for walls may not be as dense as dedicated isolation platforms. But anything that isolates the monitors and their vibrations from the surface they sit on is better than nothing. And don't forget to place your monitors the right way up, even if they look cool sideways...

The design and frequency response specifications of studio monitors relate to placement in the correct physical orientation. Most are designed to be effective in the vertical position, but some are not. Dont make stylistic errors and compromise your sweet spot.

Not sure! They're hand-me-downs from family. It's just 2 largish desks put together, with a plank of wood held-up by 2 old speakers to hold my monitor and monitors.
