Can I use more than one program within a sequence

May sound stupid, but I can't make my mpc2000 (classic) allow the use of more than 1 program playing within a sequence,

Can any one help me.

edit! this only works for the 2kxl. no the classic sorry..

if its the same as the 2kxl follow this:

shift+program
select the drum 1-4 you choose to use.
highlight at the top of the screen (it should be selected allready by default)
turn the data wheel to select the program you want.

heres a tip:
when you have a program/kit in drum1 and you have a sample you want to chop in that kit, select a different track and a new drum#.
then go to trim screen and do the chops, when you create a new program it goes straight to the empty drum# on the new track you created.
same thing goes for loading programs off disks, select an empty location then load.

this is old news for most but this should help you if my 2kxl and your 2k are the same...

Sorry, the classic 2000 is only one program at a time. The feature the XL has to use more than one program is part of what makes it XL....

But......have the two programs you want to use together on your 2000 really got 64 samples using every pad, & do you really need every sample in both programs in your sequence? What you should do is make a brand new program specially for this sequence using sounds & settings you like from other programs.

Start a new program. Assign to pads the sounds you want from your old programs. To make sure you get the same parameter tunings for those sounds do the following

You should already be in PROGAM (SHIFT/6)
Select a program you want to copy a sound's tunings from.
Then go to PARAMS (F2)
In the top line where it lists the program number a selected pad put your cursor onto the pad details. Then OPEN WINDOW, & you get the page for copying note parameters to different pads & different programs.

yeah the main reason I want it would be for the ease of just being able to load up a program with all my best drum sounds all tuned and trimmed up nice so I could pick from them all, I spose I could do this anyway, and like you said copy the sounds I want aswell as the parameters into the new sequence.

While you cannot use more than one simultaneously, you can use more than one in a single sequence by inserting program change numbers corresponding to the assigned program numbers for the PGM's. This tells the MPC to switch programs in mid sequence. So technically, the answer to your question is yes, you can use more than one program in a sequence.
