Right ive been using the MPC Ren as my main device in my music recently and i gotta say ive hit a road block. ive been making loadsa new shit in the ren and most of it i cant get out of "loop stage". Im putting it down to the song mode.
Not including the plugin duplication issue, ive ran in to loadsa problems with the song mode. Infact i now think this is the biggest issue that needs sorting at the moment.

Im having issues with when looping sequences, the sequence loops but notes on second loop dont play. Also issues when converting a sequence to a new sequence the effects just disappear?

I was really wondering if anybody is completing songs on the ren at the moment?
And if you are have you found a good way or working the song mode? Any workarounds or anything like that?

Wish I could be of more help but with this power situation I haven't been able to sit down at my ren long enough to make a complete song and haven't even gotten to use it in my studio yet! I get like 30 minutes to an hour per day to play with it. But I did put a joint through song mode and had no issues with looping or silent notes. Still have yet to get into the plugins thing though. **** sucks.

I'm having the same problem, only every time I order the steps and convert the sequence, the sounds from both the samples and plugins come out all wrong. They somehow switch to different sounds. I haven't been able to find any other information on why this is happening.

When using song mode you have to make sure each track program/plug-in setting is the same for each sequence. For example, Track 1 should always be set to the 808 kit. Track 2 should always be set to massive, etc.

Try a simple beat across a few sequences and see if it works for you.

But what if you wanna change the Q-Link parameters on Track 1 for the next 4 bars or 8 bars or something, in say, the 2nd sequence? It adjusts everything on the same track even if it's in a different sequence.

man
yall arent taking advantage of teh new "direct record" feature..

i gues you dont have too..the red still does need some fixing..

but thats what i do

since i got a shity l top..and it saves me cpu power..i just resample the sounds for certrain tracks..then play the wav..and delete the plug in..or record all the different shit i need ;D

bwahhahah
