Cell wrote:Well gentleman, I went in on that mint mpc 60I with all the upgrades. $950 seemed like to good of a deal. What do you guys think? Also now I get to see if it even comes.. Haha. This is going to be great. :( But I did get the guys number and he called me at like 8am though. Damn I was dead asleep. Said it was mine so we will see. Now I just have to sell my mpc 2000 to recoup some of the money. =-\ I hope it doesnt take to long.

Wow, great deal. I got my 60(2) ON EBAY for 800$ with no 3.10 or scsi. I went to forat and got the 3.10, thats like 250$. And I dont even have the scsi.
Congrats.
By the way, what is it that you didnt like about the 2000? Just curious

I loved the 2000. Had it since 98. They gave me the wrong one at guitar center so I got the studio plus for 1200 bucks! I used it forever and made good beats. Then I got a 1000 spring of this year. Never took my 2000 to rock shows live but I do with the 1000. People say they all have problems with it. Mine is fine. I make hip hop. Sample a break from vinyl. Chop it then start to make a beat. Besides it having note off in the trim screen(which drives me crazy, hope the 60/3000 have it as mono) it works fine for me. So I decided to let the 2000 go and peep one of the original Mpcs. Thought I would start at the first one. The guy has recieved payment and said he would ship the 60 first thing this morning. Its 4:25pm my time and 2:25pm his time and no word. =-\

relax, people got things to do, crack to smoke, chocolate to eat...

Glad someone listens to me when I go on about the armrest. A huge producer by the name of Karl Sturken used a 60 mk I up until 99 or 2000. SO the drums on that Britney Spears, N'sync and Christina Aguilera tracks was all 60, although not my style, pretty cool. The only thing he misses now is the armrest (he's computer based now.)

Yeah, Elmacaco, I did listen about the armrest. But the waiting is no good. Be it crack to smoke or chocolate to eat, I cant take it. The deal looked to good to me and I wanted to take it. After almost doing a deal for a mpc 60 with scratches and no scsi, and it not working out, made me jump at a mint one with all upgrades for $950. The guy had %100 precent feedback on 39 replies. But is that not enough? I think I just have a mistrusting nature. Ill wait till monday and see if the tracking number works. Even though my lil brother says the tracking numbers he recieves very rarely even work but his stuff still comes. He ebays more than me. I buy small things on ebay. I like to be able to see and touch something that costs this much. You feel me? Well enough of my ranting.

yeah it should be good. tracking numbers take a day or so to register on the websites.

Rest assured, it's a good deal, but it isn't so good that you should think it isn't true.

Im not saying that. So good that it may not be true is the guy whos friend got him the $50 mpc at the garage sell. That was while I was reading all the 60/3000 forums. I wonder how that guy and his mpc are doing? :)

Well today I was expecting the 60 to arrive from UPS. I had to go to work though so that sucks. Im at work now as a matter of fact. But I happened to be going somewhere for work, and being that I live accross the street from the blind shcool I work at, I noticed a Ups truck near my house. I pulled over and the lady had just left my house and said my package was here. I got it!!!! Oh my god!! Its the biggest thing I have ever seen. I was afraid it wouldnt fit in my house. I unpacked it and had to go back to work. =-( Oh well. Its not as mint as the seller said but pretty good shape. The play start button text has rubbed off and the volume and data knobs are scratched up. I would like to get new ones, does anyone know what the prices would be if they are available? It powered on and the screen was very dim(even though I was told that it was still bright). Now I know that it will never be that bright even new but I think this would could be better. I guess I will get the white el foil that Elmacaco recommends. From the pic he posted it looks way brighter than this one. And yes I adjusted the contrast. The armrest is super nice. Now I just have to get off work!

A nw backlight of any color will be brighter, the white one is easier to read.

Check FOrat and VST in pasadena for the knobs.

Thanks El. Midi-rakete.de website is down. I think anyway. I cant access it. Operation times out. But that backlight uk place is like 50 bucks us. I hope Midi-rakete.de is cheaper.

Is the arm rest real leather? Can it rip easy?

By elmacaco Mon Nov 15, 2004 7:10 pm
Nah, it's some fake leather plastic or vinyl, Mine isn't ripped but I've seen ripped ones. I am astonished at the condition of my armrest, it looks brand new and I punish it daily.

It's easilly one of the top 3 features of this beautiful machine. Mine looks perfect except for a small impression from maybe a ring. Forat and Vst emailed me back with prices for a few new knobs and buttions. $28 a peice for the volume and data knobs. Like 10 a peice for the buttom sequencer row. Forat said like $96 with shipping. That hurts. I need a new backlight before that. And thats way cheaper. 4th day and getting way faster with her. Still not trimming drums as good as I normally do. Maybe I just need come across a good piece of vinyl... This thing is really fun.
