Jumped to hardware

Hey everybody after many years working in the box i decided to used mainly hardware as far as sampling and creating goes and will probably mix in the box when it comes to final projects. Now here's what im having trouble with.

I have a 2000xl and a Roland S-330 that i would like to link up but not in the conventional way. I basically sample Drums into the s330 to take advantage of the 12bit and also more filter capabilities(hi pass for hi hats and some samples) and then resample into the 2000xl. Only problem is i dont think i can use the mp to trigger the 330 while sampling into the mp or can i? Tried searching the forums but havent found much. Thanks

nope sorry - youd need another thing to trigger the roland, either another keyboard or a trigger on the machine itself.

do you have the S330 set up with the mouse and monitor? if so, i think you can trigger the sample with the mouse and then record it with the MPC...

or if you don't have any other MIDI devices that can trigger the sample... maybe just get one of those cheap USB to MIDI cables and trigger it from your computer...

Thanks for the quick replies. Unfortunately i dont have the mouse or screen which is one of the reasons i dont feel like doing tons of editing in the 330 the other being i have a shit behringer mixer for the moment so less times it shows up in my signal flow the better lol. Guess i will just use a controller i got laying around for now. Planning to get a microkorg soon so ill be able to link it to that in the long run.
