File not found !!

when i load my sounds in my mpc1000 some of them work and some say File not found !! but when i check the same files on my computer they work. The files are showing on my mpc hard drive but i cant select most of them please help. jj os 3.09

are you trying to load MP3 files or something other than [16bit 44.1 khz] WAV files??

they are all 16 bit 44.1 KHz wav

Other requirements: they need to be 16 characters long or less, including the .wav extension.
There's probably also a restriction on what symbols can be in the name.

now that i think about it... FILE NOT FOUND probably means you're loading programs that or sequences that are missing the samples..... are you saving your beats correctly? are you creating a new folder for each new beat you make? and saving ENTIRE MEMORY into that folder? and when loading, highlight the folder and load the folder... also press the CLEAR button when loading to clear all files in memory. that's probably what's going on here...

thanks for the responses crossings, its the sounds i put on my hard drive that are saying file not found i haven't use them because they won't let me select them. im saving my beats correctly and making folders for them. But the clear button info i really needed that i was turning the mpc off an on to clear the previous sequences thanks man.

sciguy thanks for your input too im gonna try in delete some letters and symbols on the files that dont work and i'll get wit the results

yeh means your programs not loading samples. IF you make a program either save the samples with it or make sure to load the samples before to loading the program.

a few kits i had purchased once had same issue, is was because the program was saved without the samples, so i had to load the samples before loading the program. the work around i used was simply loading it all up and then saving "program and samples" to a new folder.

i turn mpc off to reset it too . didnt know there was a clear button as well as a purge button!

Yep it was the 16 character requirement. i deleted a couple of letters off the file name and now the files work. Thanks sciguy and thank you to crossings with yalls help ima couple steps closer to great production. Now i have to rename a sh!%& load of files lol

For renaming tons of files at once. You can delete one word for instance from like 100 files at once.

Metatron72 thats some good stuff there but doesn't seem to work on windows7 but i Google and found Batch File Renamer v1.0.3 works on win 7. good lookin out on tryna save me some time i show did need it
