dear 4000 lovers, Help! iam desperate

on 15th of october i have win this auction, and after 3 weeks i dont have it, the seller dont comunicate and respond to emails.. i am afraid it could have been because of Sandy or he just f*#% robbed me of 700 dolars.. this guy is a DJ in matawan new Jersey.. i could send a full adress or name, but iam just hoping if anyone should spoted a blue 4 or know this guy.. the ebay should cover lost but if.. i know its like searching a needle in the..

I'm not in the area but it seems very likely that he may still be out of commission right now due to the storm. From what I understand, lots of people are still without power, have no homes and east coast shipments are deliveries are still adversely affected. I think they are also bracing for another storm coming in tonight or something.

Hopefully the dude isn't scamming you or your 4000 isnt buried under 3 feet of mud. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Were you perhaps given a tracking number that you could use to find the MPC's whereabouts? If it's any consolation, I recently got something shipped to my friends house in New York by UPS and it was delayed by a few days because of the storm so it's a definite possibility.

Also, eBay are usually really good with these types of issues. If you've already tried to contact the seller a number of times rather than doing anymore online I'd call them explain the situation, they'll see you've attempted contact numerous times and should process a refund for you. I had a similar issue and it was resolved like this.

A tad optimistic thinking someone might spot a blue MPC4000.

I assume you checked and are aware the guy has no feedback as a seller? The sale went through a few weeks before the hurricane so I'd be a bit cynical about waiting much longer.

Like others have said, use the eBay process to manage the situation. You have no idea of the buyers situation or whether they were directly affected by the Hurricane. Yes, it's inconvenient when you win something and don't end up receiving it, but providing you get a refund all is well that ends well.

The sooner you start the eBay dispute, the sooner you'll get your money back.

no offense... but why are you telling us instead of ebay/paypal?

open a claim now... and if it arrives, then close it... send the seller a message explaining why you're doing so... if he's an honest seller he's got nothing to lose or to get mad about. but open the claim now before it's too late to do so...

file a claim with ebay. better safe than sorry.

based on the location of matawan there is a really high likelihood that this guy got clobbered by the storm - no electricity, no heat, possibly no home - BUT you won the auction two weeks prior to the storm. should have been shipped by then.

The point why i telling you instead of Ebay/Paypal (which i already did ) - is that everything seemed allright. The seller was responding has a 100% feedback..

He even send it but dont have contact me to how i want it and he send it standart delivery / cheapest and slowest / so i was waitng for 2 weeks even when i wanted to send it just to a company in Georgia.. it should have been there even by walk already..

The point why i ´seeking a blue MPC ´ on a forum i know is very desperate. But i was making music on PC for 12 years and moved to 2000 xl where i found ´myself ´ and decided the 4000 to be my one and everything as i was so overwhelmed with the whole concept workflow, intuitive ´instrument ´like feeling..

So i was seeking, earning to finaly have a 4000 becasue here in europe there are not many on auctions.. and when i finaly find and buy one things get fu@*§ up..

Plenty of MPC4000's available in UK and Europe, no need to get one from the USA. Auction sites are not the only places you can buy stuff. Maybe you just don't know where to look.

i second that file a claim with ebay, they try their hardest to make it right for you.

i got a damaged 4k and the seller didnt want to work with me, but then i went through ebay and got a full refund (minus the shipping charge), except you dont have the item yet, so you wont have to eat the shipping. start a claim with ebay ASAP they are great and will work with you, but you have to do it within 45 days of the auction ending.

he had 100% feedback within 12 auctions - and the price was very good.

The 800 pounds + fot that white one in UK - i am not interested because of price beacuse of the unit condition.

As i am from Slovakia - i can use only ebay just to be covered in this kind of cases when a seller dissapear.. I can imagine there are lot of craiglist like mpc4000 ads around europe - but the paypal/eaby protection is a must for me..

I wanted a really good cared 4k within 800 - 900 EUR

Anyway - thank you for your suggestion am still waiting for the seller and started the ebay/paypal case already.. just been frustrated cause i have already sell my 2000XL to get the 4000 and now i can go joggin instead of rockin the mpc...

Yeah but on the flip side, you can test it out/make sure it's working properly first hand. Then walk away with a machine your satisfied works. For some reason I've heard a lot of negative experiences with buying 4k's offline. It will probably be cheaper off a local sale and then bonus you get a beat making buddy in Slovakia

eBay is good because of the coverage. That dude didn't have any feedback as a seller though. All his feedback came from people who sold products to him, and not people who bought products from him. You probably should be the first though.


See this is the kind of seller you probably want to consider buying from....In my humble opinion.

Not saying that you should buy that 4k. But this is an example of a good ebayer. You can see how he's concerned about his feedback so he kept the description of the product 100. So the buyer knows exactly what he's getting so they won't mess up his feedback.
