I have been using MPC1k to sequence midi for synths. The thing I noticed is the sound is drastically lower than the rest of my gear? Can someone explain why to me? I usually have to have the MPC1k at near full volume and the fader on my mixer higher than the rest of the synths.

Maybe this:

Mode + pad 10 (other), global section : Adjust master level.

I keep mine at 0 DB so when i resample (with full level on), i don't loose any DB in the process.

Plus you can adjust the level of every sample in program mode (Mode + pad 7).

Peace

Yep, put it at 0db, and just get in the habit of never having samples at 100 volume.

I find that having them all at 73-80 gives more than enough headroom, and allows for some to be raised higher if needed.

My volume knob is consistently at 3:00, by the way.
