Feature Suggestions: MPC Renaissance

Top Items I would Like to see addressed in the Ren

1. No Plug-In Duplication - (CPU is being killed / Mac 2.66 Quad)

2. Use multiple tracks on a single vst such as Kontakt

3. Audio tracks to record vocals and external gear and plug-ins in real time.

4. Multi-core capabilities for better processing efficiency.

5. Convert a track with multiple sounds on it to multiple unused tracks.

6. All screen sizes adjustable to our choosing when working, i.e. Piano roll, note edit, automation and mixer channels etc. In the Track mixer mode the track width and height should be adjustable.

7. Additional export option (export all pads/sounds used in the song). Layered sounds should export combined.

8. Track names should be exported with each individual exported track so we will not have to rename them in another DAW.

9. File Browser folders should save their positions when a template is saved.

10. 16 Tunings on the 809 plug-in.

11. Volume knob on auto preview.

12. Right click on a track for a drop down menu for duplication, delete and other functions.

13. Freeze vsti tracks to audio tracks or if not audio tracks then freeze to a pad/program or the MPC Ren's re-sample input.

14. Full Mixer Mode which assigns every sound being used to a track (layered sounds on pads are assigned one combined track).

15 Audio Warp feature (when audio tracks are added) to handle re-mixes and syncing to tracks.


Thanks for the hard work the testers and developers are doing, I really want to make this unit the center of my production and believe in time the product will improve dramatically ...

A few more Items I left off the list above:

#13 Freeze and assign to to a pad/program/ track (automatically plays) - the re-sample issue is time consuming.

16 Address the virtual use of midi and internal midi routing (i.e Abelton live) so the use of products such as Stutter Edit, Harmony Improvisator and other midi based effects can be used. (Maybe create a [b]Virtual Midi or Internal Midi selection in the instrument drop down menu.[/b]

17. Drop and drag midi files to a midi tracks.

18. Copy Events into multiple or all sequences (used). Create a window when the copy events button is selected that shows the sequences on the pads and tap the pads to assign or select the sequences the events are to be copied to.

EFFECTS:

Generally quite bad but really obvious on the delays. Notice how they sit on the sound, dont blend in. Can you hear the obvious nasty aliasing. They will mess up your groove and mix if your not very careful.

Demand Better Programmed Algorithms. This is not 1995 - They sound like the very first plugins included with the very first version of Cubase audio.


yes, you can use your other VSTs, not the point though. Better to have had 10 decent quality built in FX rather than 50 sub par ones. Nukai have gone for quantity over quality - appealing to those who are bedazzled over such nonsense.

and why is it the dry position is actually the wet position. It makes no sense at all. Nukai trying to redesign the wheel. A case of lets be different just for the sake of it. Compressors setting are completely back to front as well. And when you use them in a pseudo parallel compression mode you can hear the nasty aliasing. Sounds like a subtle phasing. That shi** will mess with your Kwan.

Cant seem to find an FX always on top mode. If its there let me know - if not that needs to be addressed as its very annoying have to click the FX slot every time you need to adjust it. Let me decided when it vanishes.

Just started messing with the demo software today and wasnt sure if this was implemented or not. I couldn't find it. Although the parameters are there in the seqeunce param box.

This is a must. Real time quantise manipulation is as old as Atari sequencers. Its very hard to understand the thinking behind the non implementation of this. Stuff like this is so important to how the composer feels when hes working.

Its is not something to get around to in three years time.

^ another great use of selectable PPQ is that it would allow to imitate the swing of older units like the 60/3000 use 96 PPQ, the SP1200 uses 24 PPQ (which gives a wild coarse swing). that would be an awesome feature and great selling point, but to be fair i don't know of many hardware or software sequencers that allow this (i think the beat thang had it though)

Yea but last time i tried u gotta click each note... It'd be nice if they updated it so if you are holding down the left click on the mouse any note you glide over w the eraser would be erased... It'd def speed things up..

I use the hardware n re-record most of the time anyways but still...

Nvm just tried it on 1.1 and it worked... But it has issues.. It works when it wants to, but I guess I should be posting that in the bugs forum.. Peace

- When in SAMPLE REC mode, hardware and software peaks should be reset together (not separately).
- I miss the possibility to resample a pad (with it's effects) to another one to be able to use the track inserts again. Doing this in SAMPLE REC is rather invonvenient.

I wrote down some other points, can't find the note right now, though.

give us the option to assign the functions we want to the folder buttons...making them miscellaneous buttons.(option thru the preference menu)this way u can make dedicated buttons for preferred functions...SOLVED!!!!!


OR!!!!!!

DAN! give us the option of toggling the buttons so they'll multi function.....double tapping bank A will get u bank E ,double tapping sample edit will get U the sampling screen.(give us this option thru way of the preference screen)

is it just me or can you not export to audio from the plugin?

U sould be able to set the qlink setting to 0, somehow from the hardware. maybe dubble touching, clicking, on the qlink could do this? or some SHIFT function
