MPC 2500 vs MPC Renaissance

Hello everyone,
i'm new to mpc in general, i never had one actually .. and i wanna buy one nowadays
my target is to do some productions and also use it to preform making mixes, effects .. etc
in the market mpc renaissance and mpc 2500 cost the same, i saw alot of threads here talking about both but i never had a clear answer which one would be better (even if i saw alot of negative feedback about the Renaissance ) ??
I see in the Renaissance there is alot of buttons and ports are not in the 2500 but I cant judge if this changes alot or no, plus the Renaissance is not standalone ( works only with PC/MAC ) while i dont know if mpc 2500 is standalone or no ..
please someone with experience can help me to decide ??

the 2500 is standalone. plus it has an operating system (jjos) that is powerful and gets updated quickly!

you can integrate the 2500 into your software (sampler/sequencer/you name it) if you want to.

so i´d say go with the 2500 and jjosxl!!

Thanks alot bro, I'll keep your advices in mind .. i really like the mpc 2500, saying the truth the best videos and performance and beats productions i saw online, always used 2500 ..
My point is, if this Renaissance got something in advance and cost the same i would buy it. but lets say i'm 70% more into mpc 2500 plus its available in all stores while the Renaissance is not. ( in italy )

Rens not ready yet.Its like a cake thats in the oven.You can smell it and you want to eat it now but its only half cooked.

Guys and there is too much difference between the 2500 and the Special Edition white one ??

well, the se edition comes with all extras (cd drive & 128 mb ram). the screen is blue instead the standard green one.

mmm i see, but this is upgradable in the 2500 right, i mean i can work on it with the 16mb ram and without the cd room and i can add them later, right ? and its easy to do it myself ? and sure the MPC SE cost more than the normal one ?? anyway i cant find it here, seems the classic MPC 2500 will be the only machine i can get for now.. anyway bro i'll get it .. seems the Renaissance is out of discussions.

825 € is a good deal. i´ve paid 1100 € for mine (se edition, though).

It's easy to upgrade, it took no time to upgrade mine with 128MB RAM and a 120GB Hard Drive, it's so simple

That was a quick decision.

I thought you wanted to know the differences between the Renaissance and MPC2500?

Sure bro would be my pleasure listen to what do you think? the point is nobody gave me any positive opinion about the Renaissance till now.

I dont have either so I can't really comment. Yes there are some software issues with the Ren, but there are still plenty of satisfied customers. Its a different concept from the MPC2500 with or without JJOS, so its not really an equal comparison if you ask me.

I found it here available in shop for 1000 euro, i dont want to order it online, so later if i will have any kind of problem can take it directly to the shop where i bought it at less the 2 years of guarantee will be useful, as far i see you paid for the item in euro, where are you at ? you are in Italy !!

It would probably be hard to find a dissatisfied MPC 2500/JJ OSXL user. On the flip side I don't think you would have to look too far to find an unhappy Renaissance user.

Judging Numark's history with MPCs you might want to wait awhile before investing 1000+ dollars in a Ren. At least until the Sound on Sound Magazine review comes out.

With the Ren it is easier to integrate it in a software based setup.

2500 works as a standalone.

With the Ren you can use the computer screen or the LCD screen on the controller to operate the MPC.

The 2500 only has the LCD screen.

For the Ren you also need a stable computer to run the MPC Ren software.

The 2500 will also need a recording device (DAW on stable computer or hardware recorder) if you want to record or mix your beats. Theoretically it's also possible to mix down and bounce a WAV file with the 2500, but it's more limited than mixing inside a DAW or on a multitrack recorder.
