[REQ] Device names for midi channels

One feature I really miss coming from 2000XL is user definable midichannel/device names.
Working with outboard gear and live setups would be less cluttered.

Ummm... actually I thought we did have that feature at one point... not too long ago either. I know because I was able to enter names for all my externals and watch them scroll by as I changed the output channel. Was this feature removed or just changed somehow? Can't remember now. I think it just fell by the wayside during the last major rework in favor of other functions that people were more interested in.

not a feature i used, but i do remember that we did have this at one point and then JJ removed it with an os update.

i think it was one of those trade-off things where to implement feature 'x' he had to remove feature 'y'.
