YES! There is a perfect spot for it right on Q12 or Q16 under the MASTER tab!

Here we go,that's what I wanted to ask.
Is there any way to control the volume and the effects of the entire program?
Cuz in program mix,you just have control over each pads of the program and not the entire program.

Only one program can be assigned to a Track. So turning down the volume of the track turns down the volume of the program.

Using the Edit Zones function set to all, you can turn down the volume of all pads at once.

That's not what I want to do.
Let's say I have a program where there are all my chops.I played the chops on track 1 for example.Then I copy the program and I want the copied program to have all the same chops but with low pass filter effect (not the LP filter of the Ren but with a plugin of mine,like a Waves plugin) ,that way I can create a bassline.Of couse I would replay the chops differently otherwire I'd have just to copy the track.That's why I ask if there is a way to assign affect to the entire program.

Te only way to apply an effect to a Drum Program is to insert the FX on the corresponding Track. If you use assign your chops to a key group program, then you can apply effects to an entire program.

MPC Drum Program = Pad Insert Effects
MPC keygroup Program = Program Insert Effects
Track Insert Effects = Add effects to Drum/Key group program
Master FX = Effects across the master buss out

I am new here in the forum, but I checked the forum since Ren was announced.
I received my Ren yesterday and its a well built hardware and the software works since yesterday stable without crashes. But I only use the ren plugs. For me is following feature important :

1.A midi control template editor like Maschine has. I know that on Akai website is mentioned that there will be no special midi/template editor, but I would strongly prefer one. It is for me a basic future like on my mpd 32 and maschine that you can use other drum computer vst and use the Ren Pads in full effect. When I try to use Ableton drum rack I can trigger some sounds but only on sixteen pads and the pads on Ren has another scale, the pad banks cant be used like on MPD and Maschine. It would be nice to have a special Midimode.

2. When loading sounds on a pad from the browser, you have to start the sequence new because of the short interruption. On maschine no interruption.
3. What about favorite Folders options like in Maschine ? Just right click on the folder and mark your folders as favorite and all the marked folders are in an special drop down menu.

4. It was mentioned : manual slicing options and zoom from hardware
5. Copy and paste for effects
6. Pad or group swing direct from hardware with one rotary knob like in maschine.
Just active the group and dial with the swing rotary encorder.
7. The Software emulation of MPC 3000,60 etc...Why not this feature without connected to the software. I mean it could be possible via the soundcard settings. It should pop up a dialog box where you can deside which emulation.

15 Audio Warp feature (when audio tracks are added) to handle re-mixes and syncing to tracks.


Thanks for the hard work the testers and developers are doing, I really want to make this unit the center of my production and believe in time the product will improve dramatically ...

Just a small request.

Please give us the option to delay the start of a pad layer so that we can create clap effects, ie 4 samples triggered at slightly different latencies.

Having each sample start bang on the start isn't flexible.

- Should be great to have different type of looping ( Ping-Pong Loop like on Trackers ).

- Need a Pitch envelope.

- Better routing when adding an effect on a pad. It switch from track mixer... Why ?

- More multitrack export options, Check or Uncheck desired Outputs.

- Cue selected sample of the browser while hitting the Pad when working in PAD ASSIGN Menu.

- Using right arrow could play the sample in the browser... like opening the folder

- Real-time Pitch Shifting !

- MPC Software preference : VST Listing and possibility to enable or disable desired plugins. In my VST folders there are a lot of VST useless on the Ren since EQ, Comp, Reverb, i would'nt use third party.

- Editing Program without changing tracks before ! Important, it breaks the workflow.

- Program mixer enhancement, some effects disappear when copying a sequence.

Thanks for the work, I hope the software development will be quicker than Classical MPC OS. Otherwise some Hacker will crack and modding it.

Over a month into the Ren (loving it still by the way) i would
really like to see some of these things addressed and features
added..... heres hoping !!
here we go :

1-plug ins (akai) and vst's saving and loading of presets.

2-snap to region in chop mode? and a discard button in chop mode
for much improved chopping workflow after auto detection!

3-lfo delay or fade in ,i can see theres a space for it too next
to the sync drop down button!see ni's kontakt for example.

4-much more looping options-like alternate (an akai sampler
staple for years)

5-window zoom presets/setups -like cubase this would be good in
sampler edit mode and in the key editor so you dont have to keep
mousing to scoll in zoom to get all chops in view etc.

6-plug in bypass PER PLUGIN and BYPASS ther fx on master out and
each fx rack in mixer

7-envelope/lfo presets -(see kontakt)

8-multiple file load from browser instead of one at a time-like
the drag n drop from desktop

9-THE BLUE ENTER BUTTON on numeric keypad or RIGHT CURSOR to act
as also the "do it"button or as select on hardware for quick
workflow or enter or number buttons for modifyable shortcuts ie
loop selection/chop selection etc

10-PLUG IN FX RECORDABLE AUTOMATION.

11-saveable swing setup templates/presets-like mv series

12-AN AUTO PREVIEW VOLUME FADER!

13-playing in context preview from sample browser(ie-140 master
tempo will preview samples at 140)

14-loop latch in sample edit for latching samples to keep looping
when pressing pad once so you dont have to keep your handon
it....

15-plug in template (saveable)mapping/maps for your favorite plug
ins.

16-more viewable options on hardware-ie grid editor

17-sample names in layering -on hardware please!!

18-pad to sample edit-in main mode sample chosen on pad then must
be able to edit that sample right away in sample edit-like most
samplers

19-REALTIME SWING -LIKE MASCHINES REALTIME KNOB!!!-just put it on
jog wheel or assignable to q link

20-realtime select and ready to play sound when selecting presets
from a vsti instrument -you should not have to then press select
from f key top be ready to play it also need a key/q-link to
open EDIT and see the vst gui from hardware

21-sample layers section pointable to folders ?-for quick
scrolling and selecting from there so you could ie-go through
all different snare layers from your snare folder and layer on
the fly with q links from the ponited to folder!

22-quick way to add layers from hardware instead of shift n drag
to pad

23-select n move notes from hardware this combo would work with-
select event then right cursor to selct then up and down cursor
to move and jog wheel or + an- to nudge -(mv8800 did this well)

24-saveable fx chains

25-quicker way to clear/delete a pad

26-colour by pitch/pad velocity colours in key editor like cubase
as an option to go with by velocity add as a preference option

27-assignable and realtime automatable pitch bend and glide from
the hardware(realtime pitch bend from hardware qlink is not
recording but showing as recorded in key editor automation lane)

28-be able to toggle note on one shot off and on from start in
preferences

29-toggle for auto audition ON after chop for in preferences

30-realtime control over program (PRG) params with q links FROM
MAIN MODE only seems to with individual pads

31-cant realtime record automation with filter from the hardware
in program edit??? [/i]

- Program Editing must'nt stop the Ren Playing while in SONG MODE !!!

- Way to choose ALL , Multiple or Current from the Ren when editing a program.
Then Multiple should be set if by hitting Pad to enable and disable.
