Folder Management

Is it possible that once you have seperately saved files ie PGM, Sequence and APS files to put them into a new folder?

I use a 1 Gig Jaz drive and it's getting very messy!

the only way to 'copy' a file from one location to the next is to load it, create the new location, and then resave there.

i would suggest loading up all the pgms, then saving as an APS WITH SOUNDS so it copies the sounds to the new location first.
then you can save the individual pgms as well if you want.

alternatively you can do all this via a pc, but if any of your filenames are longer than 8 characters, they will magically and painfully disappear once you connect to computer.

Okay just loaded up a program - how do I then save it into my folder that I've already made?

Yeah just treid out what you said intitially and it just saved it straight to the Jaz disk root folder

did you navigate to the newly made folder? once you create the folder.. highlight it and click "right" on the arrows... if I remember correctly.

ok important question - are you on a xl or a 2000 classic?

classic does not support folders.

on xl, when you are in the 'save' screen, there should be an option to create a new folder.

Yeah I knew exactly what you mean now - In the SAVE/LOAD screen there is an icon in the top right with a little black folder and if you move the jog wheel you can select different folders.

for completeness ake you can also hit 'open window' on the folder name to go into it.

^yeah that is a good one too...

at least you got it sorted... yeah on the mpc you need to actually go to the folder for a saved item to go there.. you can make a new folder for every song.. that IMO is the best way.
