I just bought the MPC 500, and HAVE read through the manual, especially in the recording and sampling sections. I have recorded the sample correctly, and I believe, as according to the manual, assigned the sample correctly to the pad. The problem I'm having is that when I hit the pad to play the sample, all I get is a soft popping sound. Sometimes after I keep hitting the pad, it will eventually play the sample, but then when I hit the pad right after it ends, no go, just the soft popping noise. The sample is only 4 seconds long as I know this MPC has a limit of 6 second sampling time. So what could be the problem? Is it a memory issue, even though I haven't loaded anything except this one sample after I took off all of the pre-loaded stuff and the factory samples that came on the CF card that I loaded previously. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
