Have you recorded audio from the SPDIF outputs and then analog outputs using the Vintage Mode.....the compare to audio files?

Well SPDIF and Analog are never going to sound the same......but if you listen to it. you can hear it come on when using the SPDIF, the sound is definitely affected.

That is not debated. It's whether the circuitry added to the Ren has any significant impact on its sound that contributes to or enhances Vintage Mode.

I don't think it's debatable anymore honestly.

Either the circuitry has an impact on the sound or not. Until someone does actual hands on testing, the OP conclusion can't be taken as fact.

It would be best if an actual test is done by the 'impartial and experienced' OP. Some folks would be skeptical if done by me.

and ironically you're the only person here skeptical of the OP's claim and therefore the only one demanding a test to prove it.

Why would I believe something someone asserts without providing proof?

once again... ironically, that is what this thread is about... akai made claims without providing any evidence. and now that the evidence is provided here in the first post you're going bananas trying to discredit it. you have 2 rens right in front of you. why can't you arrive at your own conclusions on the sound without the help of the internet? no one here is trying to change YOUR mind about anything... not even hypnosis could accomplish that at this point.

Everyone else - calm down. You've all been playing so nicely last couple of days, let's leave it at that.

Lmao as products mature so do the users

No surprises there then.
Nukai, stop treating your users as if they are imbeciles.

And tell your twitterface obsessed employees to calm
down with posting hype driven drivel.

Cant find it now but one of the posts on twitterface stated the sound
was the exact same as the Akai MPC 3000. The only way it was ever
going to sound the exact same was if inside the Ren was the exact same components, and not just the convertor.

When I get my hands on a Renaissance I will of course be doing a midi timing test on their specially written USB midi driver which they claim will ensure the tighter timing than anyone elses midi interface when triggering external midi modules and synths. Of course triggering internal sounds via its software is sample accurate - as it should be.
I plan to test with dedication and vigour on both a PC and Mac.

However, I have no plans to buy a Ren until a couple of software updates so dont expect this test in a week.

I genuinely do hope it goes well as triggering external synths with very accurate timing is very important to me as it is for many others.
