Floppy drive with OS 1.2?

Will a floppy drive work with OS 1.2? Someone told me they thought the floppy was only an option for OS 1.1.4 but I tend to think they're wrong.

Floppies are compatible with every OS IIRC.

I think that the Akai website/info specifies that the 1.2 OS download is only for MPC2000XLs with the MCD, and the 1.14 OS is for MPC2000XLs with Zips/floppies.

Maybe that is where "someone" got the info.

Any idea why they specify this, rather than recommending 1.2 for all drives?
