Need help with MID on JJos2

I ugraded from jjos1 to os2xl last weekend, and now im all screwed up on midi stuff......I used to be able to record what what my keyboard played right to the MP on a midi track, now I cant get it to do anything, other than the monitor section shows me hitting the keys but nothing gets recorded or even saved on the grid.....please point me in the right direction Ive looked everywhere......

really, it works the same in both OS's. So it seems something is amiss, and I can not see any thing obvious in what you say to know what is going on.

Have you got it in multitimbral mode?

ill admit I'm not that experienced with the MPC but iI was able to get it to work just fine before..... its very frustrating I've read many things watched many videos but can't seem to get the info iI need for the exact setting..... s

I've tried multitembre=off and multitembre=o, with no change either way..... is it possible iI have just one bad p, on my patch Cable?

You figure that bit out your self by swapping the cables around with other ones
Put it to multitimbral : off. This way it should record the active track your on. Set that to MIDI, though should not matter. Hit record start, then play midi device, and it should work. Oh and check your velocity data, it might be at 1 instead of a higher value, like full level, 128 for instance. So try it with full level on, but check that full level is not set to a low value like 1 and you can not hear it.

Does your keyboard trigger a reading (eg, V:127) in the upper right area of the main screen's pad mode field?

You say you had it working before the upgrade. Did you follow the instructions on the JJ site regarding the factory reset after installing? POWER ON whilst holding ERASE. Very important. You may get all kinds of unpredictable and weird behavior if you don't perform that step.

yes when I upgraded I followed the instructions for the upgrade.......it does recognize when i play a key on my keyboard....when I hit play/record however it just keeps saying " waiting for midi "play"" at the bottom of the screen.....

So the sequencer isn't even starting? Will it start in normal play mode without record? What are your settings on the SYNC page?
