if ur not comfortable with sampling dont do it it aint for u.
the reason u aint comfortable is because u have bowed to the social pressure that conditions u to think sampling is just stealing and not artistic.
and cos u have been judging the inventiveness and creativity of sampling off the works of puffy and kayne.
if u know how to flip sounds and put shit together sampling can be a very liberating pursuit.
i sample , i use vst synths and romplers.
sometimes i use both on the same track, there is room for all methods its all about hwo u put shit together and ur creative vision.
but i dont automatically think that if u dont sample ur a better producer then an entirely sample based producer, that whole skool of thought is erroneous imo.
but do what u like.
keep it fresh ideas use different vsts, and use different types of instuments then just the standard midi type sounds
