i'd like to ask JJ to give us the ability to make, use and store custom LFO shapes.

i like using these functions a lot but there's often a point i get to thinking - shit i could draw a perfect LFO for such a given purpose, mbe a page (ie: pgm/LFO/ + 'window') where we can draw the shape into a full screen sized XY plot (imagine 'recording' one in realtime using the clicktrack and the Qlinks to 'scribble' custom curves) and edit them store them load them etc. all to be deployed in the program LFO page.

please guys plus this and i'll ask the man.

it's an interesting idea, but i'm curious why you would want to use a custom LFO shape as opposed to just recording a qlink tweak into the sequence?

Should do the trick, no?

probably, and with more flexibility than could be reasonably fit into just the lfo window.

A free running LFO with S&H would be nice. Or something random.. ie, setting a small random pitch difference per hihat or snare so they don't all sound exactly the same.

Yeah, that was one thing that bugged me in 2xl.

On the akai/free JJOS, an LFO set to random would give a random value every hit, I did use it frequently for small pitch and level variation in drums.

On 2xl, the behavior is different. Say it's set to 1 beat, random LFO. If you hit it like at 1/8 notes, the LFO value will always be the same. If you let it play for one beat, then hit it again on 1/8 notes, it will stay at the new random value.

Kinda annoying.
