xp-60 slave 2 MPC

Can the MPC drive the sequencer in the XP-60? I would like to continue use of the sequencer in the XP for sounds, but sequence the drums in the MPC, then have the MPC drive the XP sequencer. Or should I do it the other way around and drive the MPC sequencer with the XP? Which is better?

Secondly, are the sequencing features as advanced in the MPC sequencer as those found in most production keyboards, i.e., editing capability with respect to specific notes.

yeah, but why would you want to? Why not just have the mpc sequence and force the keys to play sounds? basically when you hook a keyboard to the Mpc the keyboard becomes:

A) a midi controller for the mpc

B) a sound module for the mpc

the sequencer can still be used in the keyboard, but that adds and additional step that isnt necessary as the MPC's sequencer is pretty darn powerful.

the mpc can send all midi note info, same as the keyboard, and the keyboards buttons to do stuff should still work w/ the mpc (ie if you have a program change button on the keyboard and it is midi'd to the mpc, when you hit the program change on the keyboard, it will send the program change info to the mpc sequencer)
you can run the 2 sequencers 2 gether, but why would you want to? that adds a step of additional work that I wouldnt want to deal with the headache of, trying to get 2 seperate sequencers made by 2 diff. companies to lock up.

Copy all and thanks. I guess I am doubtful (no having completely read the manual), that the MPC can manipulate specific parts of a sequence like the keyboard can. The ability to go in to a sequence and soften one note or change the attack of a note or the brillance, wasn't something that I thought the MPC could do.

So your recommendation is to use the MPC for everything, the sequencer and drum machine (it's intended purpose...right)! Well I guess if it can do A-L-L that the XP can do, that would be the right decision.

I guess I simply have to wean myself off of the XP and work the MPC to death. Thanks for your comeback.
