how to install internal cf or mcd into 2000 classic

you will need to get a scsi cf reader... check around the 2000/2000xl section and the for sale section... some people are selling ones for the 60 and 3000 and I suspect those would work on the classic.

be prepared to spend over a hundred dollars maybe over 150 even...

2000 classics, don't support internal card readers. You'd have todo what Wal Martaun suggested and feed the external scsi port back into the machine. I wouldn't recommend destructively messing with your machine until you sure of your ability and desire todo so. Good luck

No, you can not use an IDE reader directly in an MPC2000, the MPC2000 doesn't have an IDE port.

You have to use a SCSI reader, or a SCSI to IDE bridge with an IDE reader.

What you are talking about with the 25 pin ribbon cable, and soldering it to the pcb, is a SCSI cable, not IDE.
