I have a drum sample @ 103.5 bpm, now I'm trying to match the new samples bpm with the original bpm. I have Jjos 3.12 on the mpc 1000 witch offers the time stretch. I'm having trouble getting these 2 samples to match up to play together. Some advice is needed please help.

i dont use timestretching in the mpc at all, actually don know how to, but you can pitch up down, and it slows/speeds up the sample.

THe bpm detection is not absolutely accurate, and if it is a person playing then bpm will change over the bar to. That is what drummers do. So use your ears. Set loop to play in a sequence on mono so that you can change the bpm of sequence till there is a perfect loop and that is the real bpm. Do not rely on computer or mpc to give bpm. Do this after you set the loop length of sample first. ie turn on loop and make sure it sounds right looped, then put in sequence with loop of, and use sequencer to play in a loop and trigger the sample at the start of the sequence. If there is a gap its too slow, if it cuts of then its too fast. this will give good bpm. I recommend chopping to for good bpm shiftimg crazyness.
