Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Finally i bought a mpc 2000xl and after the first big question marks im quite happy with it... But i need one question to be answered and would be very happy if you could help...

I created my own programm files and loaded one into the mpc... It was automatically safed on "drum 1"... Is it possible to load another kit with 64 samples on "Drum 2" another one on "Drum 3 & 4"? So that you have 4x 64 Samples available to make your drumset. If yes, how? Thank you very much

Yep, just go to PROGRAM, and select DRUM 2, highlight the program name, OPEN, new program. Assign your sounds to the new program. And so on with DRUM 3 and 4.

In your sequencer, assign the desired DRUM number to different tracks.

Check the manual for more specifics on this (not got my MPC2000XL to hand, and its been a while), but also check my MPC2000XL book for 220 pages of actual MPC2000XL beat making examples.

keep in mind there is a hard limit of 256 samples max in ram at one time.

so if you really have 4 programs with 64 sounds each, that is all you can have.

it helps to 'reuse' samples and edit them via pad params.
