I will tell you what I would love to get my hands on a Sherman Filterbank filter though. I've drooled over those a few times.

Ah that's right it does have a basic follower, but I was thinking more in terms of a discrete envelope with it's own ADSR control.

I've used the old versions of the Shermans, they're cool for some things but the midi implementation is a PITA. Never got around to using them with midi just because of it.

Personally I'm more interested in the Mutator at this point. A friend has one but I haven't had the chance to mess with it while it's turned on yet.

Yeah Jomox is good stuff... Real analog hardware envelopes too. Not enough of that in the digital hybrid world.

Gonna have to cast my vote for the totally cliche moog mf-101 filter although that juno filter looked pretty dope.

I like keeping my 2000 standalone, but a deticated filter on the input or output is actually one of the few other purchases I've seriously considered. For now sometimes I'll use reason as an FX chain (like I did in my simu12000 sample set). Using Thor's filter actually sounds pretty good, and you can get some great coloring with the self oscillation. Sometimes life calls for 24db filter

gotta love moog's filter. the J-106 is a bit cheaper tho and smaller. but in the vein of these mooger foogers there is the Koma pedals that I've been eyeballing for the last year... i really dig how they implemented the sequencer and hands free "D-Beam" ish thing

This is a cool piece. Had one a while back but it got sold on during a bit of a clear out. Kinda regretting that now as I mess with CV stuff a bit more these days.

Yeah if you're into the non-resonant extreme EQ type filter I can reccomend the SND FB-14. Only had the chance to use the mono version but they're really nice.




Another rare one in the resonant catagrory is the Sebatron Copernicus. Never got to play with one but I'd be interested if anybody else did:

Roland SH09 EXT IN: Filter, env follower + modulation = class sound. I have an aux send permanently connected to it.

Iotine core

i've been looking at the moogerfooger low-pass and the electrix filter factory. can't decide on one or the other. Does anybody have first hand experience with both? can any body tell me the benefits of one over the other? I did some research online however, most of the videos are using techno/glitch drums and/or putting additional synths through.

well ok... so i have the filter factory and the mode machines f-106 juno filter.
i do not have the moogerfooger low pass filter but a good friend does.
I have a slim fatty that i've used the external input to use the filter section.

so here is my review on the f-106. i really like it.

as for the filter factory. i was planning on doing a quick vid for that today but time got away from me. I copped it used on ebay for under $100. its very flexible with some cool features and its also stereo which the others are not. i dont think you can get a stereo filter for any where near what you can get this one for... the catch is that you have to find one on ebay or something but they show up now and again. I'd warn that while it is really dope and stereo it can be noisy. still really good for dirt and lo fi analog goodness. ive used it with my 5000, synths, ios synths, vinyl sampling. i like it

the moogerfooger low pass is mono but the smooth moog filter is priceless. speaking of price it is pricey for a mono low pass filter but it may be worth it for the moog smooth lows while filtering. keep in mind if you want stereo prepare to buy two. my guy seems to enjoy his but he also bought a filter factory and when compared he says he likes the filter factory but its dirtier and grittier. so it depends on what he is trying to accomplish

now also there is KOMA pedals. so dope. i really want one check it out here
