I need to make a choice mpc 200 xl studio plus or mpc 4000

i already have an mpc 2000 xl, i was looking to upgrade to the Eb 16 effects board and the mfc 42, but im thinking would it be better to get an mpc 2000xl studio sampler or mpc 2000 xl studio plus or just say forget it
and get an mpc 4000 packed with everything

i mean damm, i need some help

studio plus owner says get the 4000......unless you wanna just master the xl and add the stuff to yours to make it a studio plus.....will cost about $800

2XL w/Effects board is all you need
If you ONLY and I mean ONLY use the MPCs and NO computer and are finding yourself constantly using more than 1 program each time you make toons then consider the 4000 if you stay within one program and still have many pads left over then stick with the 2XL

Like that one kid said about the programs and stuff...i have no need for a mpc 4000 not because of price but because of NEEED. when i make my beats with a mpc ill later record it into my fav. audio computer program and get it to sound the way i want it to be....if you have a computer and a good one you dont really need a 4000.

true, but there is alot to be said for being able to do it all (for real do it all) in the mpc 4000. think about it. cutting out soooooo many steps that take soooo long. Laying down tracks is basically non-existent and mixing is done in the 4000, which has actual buttons and faders not just a mouce to click on stuff wif.

like now, I'm starting to get away from the pc recording and using it as a pass thru efx unit or sound module and use a HDR for laying tracks down.
basically I think the amount of use you get out of your pc is INVERSLY proportional to how good you have become with your gear (IE the better you get on the 2000 the less you will find yourself using your pc.) I got a friend who basically only uses his pc to edit wav's, and thats all.

plus, longevity, the 2000xl is on the way out, it will still be used, but eventually akai will want to focus on getting people to buy the mpc 4000 and simply stop making the 2000 series, likely when the price for the 4000 drops to around 1800 dollars, or so. the mpc 4000 will be around at lest another 3 years as the state of the art in this line of sampler/sequencers. So remember, the mpc 2000 is great but it is nearing the end of its run.
