... I got a pad full of samples that I dont wanna loop - I wanna create a chopped up effect for a b-part in a beat.

How do I make the sounds not overlap eachother when I punch the individual pads? I know that when I set the sounds to "MONO" I can press the same button twice and it won't overlap, it'll just play the same sound again. But how do I make the sounds play like the keys of a piano??

Is it at all possible on a MPC 2000?

Hit me up.

Peace.

for the pad you wanna do that to...

go into PROGRAM mode and hit the pad you want to edit. Press the F2 button i think so you see the window where you can change the tune or filter or decay and attack values. Go over to where it says POLY and turn it to NOTE OFF.

that should work for you. Im not right in front of my mpc so that F2 thing might be wrong, but this is how you would do it. Turn POLY to NOTE OFF.
