Want to make a sample that is looped to exactly one or two BARS?? yeah ya probably do at one stage, and so maybe wonder what is a quick and easy way to do it.
Well this is with JJOSXL but its easy and only takes a second to do to.
OK so I do not use this technique much myself, but since I don't not see anyone talking bout it before I will post this walkthrough for that perfect bar length sample. You might facepalm yourself, or you might know already but its good to share, and any one else should let me know if they cant do it, or done it before.
ok so it can be done with anything sound wise. So it can be done with a sequence or a track, or playing live into MPC with any instrument. synth, guitar, scratchin on the ones and twos, MCing bout crime ya did, anything....... Ya just gotta plug it in to the MPC so ya can sample it, but you should know that bit already. But you can still load a sample into it via USB to.
Anyways its all about mixdown and takes, in song mode.
1. Choose the length of bars you want to make the sample you want.
2. Make blank sequence of that length.
3. make song with that blank sequence
4. hit F3 for mix down
5. record your take and play instrument
6. go to trim and revel in the glory of your loop that is exactly 1 bar or whatever you chose. No it dont do half a bar. chop in to 2 chops for that.
yeah easy, but very effective. I have used this with sequences I made as well as the blank ones to capture the exact bar length for the ease of use. Of course your set at that BPM you chose unless you chop or patch phrase, pitch bend ect.

but as I read that, I think if I just start from point 5. I will get exact same result as You from point 1.
