Looks like if you run with the windows 7 platform instead of the mac OS... you can max it out quite a bit more...

Some people on here mentioned they thought these types of systems are the future... for an all in one box system it looks alright. Obviously you could piece a beast like this together for cheaper... but it would be tough to strap all that into a keyboard frame. Anyone getting one? Skalante? how about you?

well apparently it runs dual 6 core processors (two of them on the motherboard)

however the apple version allows for a single i7 and it doesn't offer the 192gb capacity.

i would love to have one of these if i knew how to play keyboard. it looks like it intigrates into your DAW seamlessly.

i wonder how you get around with key commands and such though.

for me these things got cool factor but that's where it ends.

I know how to troubleshoot computers, and mpcs to extent...if one of these mofo's breaks down who will fix it n how much...do I gotta ship it n pay for shipping

too many things to go wrong with all in one unit like that IMO

yeah that is true... one thing **** up and you loose your entire studio.. keyboard.. interface... the whole 9 if the machine really needs to be brought in to the company

The price is a lot of money... but the windows version is running on server hardware. I am not sure which MB they are using, but it may not be too hard to figure out when looking at the specs. Seems like a pretty good 'alright' if you ask me... for an all in the box piece of kit....

computer milage can vary depending on usage, on average I squeeze out about 5yrs from pc before things start acting funny

well they are using 2.4 xeon cpus... they are using error correction ram.. not sure the brand, but it's probably crucial or kingston or some regular brand. Brand of MB.. not sure, but it cant be that hard to figure out... just gotta check the list of server boards that are compatible with those CPU sockets... and have the rest of the specs.

I think you may be able to put a tower like that together for 2000-2500 ... maybe 3k. That is a rough estimate...

yeah I think they said semi weighted? What exactly is synth action? Does that mean semi weighted?

I guess the only real way to know what the fully blown version comes with is if they have a option builder type thing on the site.

Yeah the 2 in 2 out kind of sucks... I suppose you could add another sound card...

exactly, semi-weighted is synth style... it's a cool bit of kit for somebody with doe to burn...If I got one I prolly wouldnt do any sequencing on it instead I'd treat it as big ass sound module, fill it up with quality vsts. prolly chop and process my samples on it then do the sequencing in mpc

yeah get the mpc on that stand instead of the mpd or apc... would be a good idea. I could picture somebody running the ren on that complaining about not being able to access the other 189 gigs of ram.. lol.
