[REQ] Improving Audio Tracks

Hello,
Long time I didn't use audiotracks, so few thoughts to make them a little more user friendly.

- UNDO=>DELETE=>PURGE
Usually if I press UNDO i want to record again immediately. In my opinion, having to delete all the bad takes afterwards is just a waste of time.

-In the following screen being able to customize the default name :


If it's not possible I'd like the MPC to remember the last recorded "take" number and restart recording from this number at the next start-up

example : I spend 30 minutes recording scratches from my turntable on my MPC. Let's say I keep 3 files, i.e. take9, take 15 and take36. On the next start-up I'd like the MPC to increment audiotracks number from take36. In the current state it restarts at take01.

Using audiotracks can be a total mess

+1 on the UNDO-DELETE feature - IMO it should work like a regular track does.


How about this: since hitting undo again should bring the track back, as it does on normal tracks, the sample isn't actually deleted when UNDO is pressed. It just unassigns it from the track.
However, if you recorded to the track again after hitting UNDO, it would delete the old sample. So the UNDO is sorta like an OVERWRITE button on an audio track.

Just an idea.

I'm a bit pessimistic though, as nothing useful has been added for months.

the field at the bottom of main, where you pick the bar and sample, is constantly resetting itself to 1 on me withnis reslly bloody snnoying. i dont have my mpc on front of me rigt now, but i think its not hard to miss this if you mess with it a small bit. also, splitting a take into two based on the cursor position would be a VERY useful tool for many different purposes...

+1 on the UNDO-Purge and go back to previous sample name in Audio Tracks.

I don't really like the way it works, i.e. the fact that the "bar field" and the cursor position in the main grid are partially disconnected can lead into confusion. Especially if you make a mistake and press REC/PLAY START instead of REC/PLAY.

Regarding splitting, it would be nice. At least being able to "delete" a bar in the main grid upper bar field could make me happy. What I'm doing now as a workaround is : in TRIM mode making the unwanted part of the take silent (at the beginning) and I overwrite it. Polyphony is wasted but that works.

Yeah I think it's been requested and promised in the past too.
