Be nice to morph the 2 together. iMPC is a workflow killer. The sequencer stops for stupid shit like changing pad volume and tuning pads. I could go on and on. If my iPad wasn't jailbroken I would of been deleted it but it is and I do all my chopping in another app and move the samples into iMPC with iFile.

I doubt the iMPC gets any useful updates to ease the strain of the poor workflow, so buyer beware.

yea, i been saying it.. it was after the 2.3 update that beatmaker2 was usable to me, its the real impc, its more like a jjos on ios

I have to agree. I'm hoping they add Soundfont or SFZ support as the keyboard instruments kinda suck. But if I could go in Extreme Sample Convertor and translate old Akai multisampled patches and my E-MU/Ensoniq stuff not to mention Kontakt sounds...oh boy.

On topic I ran the iMPC in Tabletop with an MPD, it made up for a lot of the limitations as Tabletop had most of the missing features you could use as workarounds. The original 16 pad sampler in Tabletop actually can load things like Recycle chops with a MIDI file in the folder. iMPC as far as I can tell won't even let you load a folder. I hate apps that think I would want to have 1000's of singles with no organization not to mention you scrolling like the equivalent of 30-50ft on a 9.7 inch screen.

I'll be harrassing Retronyms a lot hoping to get the folder/chop thing added to iMPC.

As for soundfonts BS-16i is a great soundfont workstation app that has 16 channels of midi/virtual midi.

Another thing I hate is having to look at the POS Ren every time I start the iMPC app.
I'm bout to find that .png and photoshop a new splash screen.

I have no complaints about the sequencer though. Shits on point!

Yeah the original word was that it was the 2000 OS code being ported, but as it turns out it was just the XL styled faceplate graphic being used. I looked in the manual and it turns it it's the 1000 OS that birthed this. I do think it's wack that the 4 tracks export together though. I'll probably bounce with stuff muted like I do when I copy/paste out of iKoasilator.

I thought I was the only one who found the gratuitous Ren shot bush league and cheap. I'm not jailbroken so I didn't even consider the ideas of binning it for a better splash screen.

I agree on the sequencer, it does have that "right" MPC feel to it. Really the only reason I got it as BM2 and Nano crap on this app from an overall standpoint.

Thanks for the recommend on the BS-16i app. Hopefully the developer gets in on Audiobus and I could pipe that app to BM2.

"The iMPC app does not currently support Audiobus. However we are looking into this feature for a possible future update." To me it looks like Akai is still pretty half assed in how they operate, but just that statement is a ray of hope given their last 8 years, and the Ren/Studio stuff shows they are actually trying to correct the issues from releasing too early. If they just listen to customers and give proper updates to these products they could claw their way back to customer respect and trust. What choice do they have?

Intua (makers of beatmaker) can go **** themselves. First they come crawling cap in hand with Beatmaker 1, then once the product is any good - change to a new overpriced version with no upgrade path.

The numerous reviews in the App Store say it all.

iMPC is something I use when I am on the toilet.
For real, I do own it, the app and the toilet at the same time. ehhhh.

iMPC [standalone] isn't so great; in Tabletop, it's more instantaneously useful.

There's no reason to pre-order or buy an MPC fly, the way it is. Let's hope an update, with improvements and added features, comes to iMPC soon.

Some of my feature requests:
-iOS universal
-Zoom in/out waveform
-Individual track exports
-Sampling time limit extended [or removed altogether].

i dont give a shit about the reviews, i bought beatmaker2 knowing what it could do, i didnt think it was overpriced compared to software i have bought in the past. it does what i want it to, why would i go reading reviews on it?? i dont need to be convinced to like stuff i use. but i was always confused why there is a bm1?? i mean it doesnt have all the features of bm2.. to be honest bm2 does everything i do in jjos., whatever i paid for it is totally worth it

I actually asked 4 people whose advice I thought would be of sound mind. Worked out great. Saved me a bunch of money on car insurance.

I'm not saying that at all. What I am saying is that there are enough alternatives out there for me to use them. It's really not that confusing as to why there was a Beatmaker 1...

Kinda annoyed by the fact that you cant edit/chop a sample, it's essential and I thought it was the least to expect.
