Numark mixer and 2 turntables

seen some guy selling this for $175

decent deal?

I suppose it's okay... but numark mixers are pretty weak. I think you should look at the sale as just two tables for 175... I mean you can use it, but it's going to be noisy, the buttons are going to probably stick, the faders will make static, the knobs will be tough to turn due to gunk and dirt. You can easily take the top plate off to access the different parts and clean them with contact cleaner... it will work fine for a while but it will be back to static soon... and the slight buzz those make will probably not go away. Still.. it can be fun to mess with.

those tables, I have no clue about them.

just be aware you are buying a <$200 set of turntables and mixer.

gemini tables usually suck if your gonna be giving them any kind of scratch for their money, but dont get me wrong, they will work.

its a decent deal i suppose, i wouldnt buy these to do any serious scratching on though, but they would more than fit your needs for sampling.

numark has some nice mixers if you get into higher end ones, and i swear by their budget tables, i wasnt really doing super scratching with them though, but when i did mess around and scratch, i noticed the statnon and gemini ones would skip alot easier than my tt200 or tt500 numark decks. keep in mind that my numark decks were 2-300 dollar decks and you can get some sets of gemini's or stantons witha mixer for that price range. i dont know much about these specific models though.

i just saw that your in canada, im talking strictly us dollars, so i might be more inclined to pay that if i was there, i would jump on em if they were 120-150

yeah that pretty much sums it up... I was given this purple numark mixer for free that had the transform buttons too... essentially they didn't cut anything out exactly but they would if your cross fader was centered. If you had the crossfader all the way to the left and you pushed the left transform it would let in the right channel at full volume (as though the cross fader is at the right) but it wouldn't cut out the left. This was kind of cool if you wanted to do some slow warping on the right table and rapidly clicking the transform button to unmute the warping channel... you can get a cool effect from that with a drum beat playing on the other deck.

That being said, you would be lucky to do that for a few minutes before the button started sticking in and not popping back out.


at the end of the day... cheap components, it buzzes.. and that is fine for dicking around on a small system... but if you run that mixer through a PA... you are amplifying that buzz.

Yeah I decided not to buy them, gonna keep looking for some better ones. Mines **** up right now so I need something asap. Thanks for the input dudes

was a pretty funny video, i still wouldnt say ALL numark mixers are bad though, cause i had a dxm pro for a few years and it always treated me well and felt very solid, although i didnt abuse it as much as a dj would.

Always depend on the time they were produces. IMO you can't compare something like this here (DM1002x) with something like the early Numarks.
