Ok. First I would like to state I'm
Not a noob to this at all. I'm pretty fluent with mass studio
Equipment. But still I encounter a issue.
Ok all my
Midi is connect properly. What I am trying to do is use Mpc as sequencer
And use triton strictly as midi controller and sound bank. I don't care to sequence in
Triton as I want Mpc to be brain. Now if I hit a pad it triggers triton,
However if I hit key on triton I'm getting no signal in to Mpc.
Now I have recently triggered a plug in within protools with the midi from triton
So I know the midi output on triton is not
Flawed. I never had a triton always fantom motif and Neko.
Is there something different with the triton then all the rest of the boards
That does not
Allow the output correctly? Please any help greatly appreciated I'm seriously stuck.
All my
Other boards work fine

I do this same thing with my triton extreme and 4k. I sequence with my 4k and use triton as a sound module and keyboard.

Maybe it's something to do with midi int, ext, both, in the triton track parameters.

I can't help troubleshoot the 2500 though.

this can have several reasons:

1. look at the midi settings mode -> pad 9 and check that it is recieving on the ports you have the triton connected to. e.g. a,b,c,d or omni

2. the mpc can only recieve midi in from the keys on the active track (not to confuse if you have several tracks of midi with different channels going OUT from the mpc to the triton).

3. what sound are you trying to trigger? a sound from the triton through the mpc or a sound of a program on the mpc?

4. the pads on the mpc do have general midi layout as a default and not chromatic, so maybe you used a key on the triton that does not trigger a pad with a sound on it?

5. this may be obvious but still: is the active track on the mpc set to midi and the channel is pointing to something that can produce a sound?

peace, jo

In my midi config in Mpc it's set to omni, I have went abcd
For trouble shooting purposes and none of have worked so far.
I want to trigger sound in the triton, but I also want the keys I hit on triton to be
Recorded midi notation into the Mpc. I do this with all my boards it works fineS
Yes I have it going to active tracks which is why I'm quite puzzled.
Im not Getting midi into Mpc from triton but I can get midi from Mpc into triton.
It's a very strange Issue as I have never encountered it before.
I thought maybe it would be a issue inside the triton as my
Othwr 3 boards work fine. I was given the Triton as payment for helping a buddy
Set up a Matrix board. I'm just stuck and can't figure this out. I thought maybe it was Mpc but then I kinda felt like the other boards wouldn't work.

My frustration levels are great at the moment lol

My triton stays in program mode, not in seq mode.
I change the triton programs via
mpc inst trk, mid out 1-a, ch1, device 1, pgm change 1 (piano).

To record another triton pgm the above mpc inst pgm # gets changed (do this on mpc).
I can then play a differnt pgm on the triton keys.

You will notice when you change the pgm # on the mpc triton will follow on screen. All I have done to the triton so far was turn it on and connect midi cables to mpc, in to out and out to in, nothing else. It's used as a sound module that can also play it's keys into mpc 4k sequencer. That's how I get it done.

Like I said I dont have a 2500 but maybe some of that will help you.

Triton extreme and all the classics and triton studio have damn near the same menus. Lemme know what you find out. I'm in the lab right now helping a friend out for the next few hours.

Still stuck-_-
Can't figure it out. The midi out works on triton cuz
It still triggers protools. Midi in works on Mpc cause I can
Still track notation with all boards except triton.
AHHHHHHHHHHHH

Never have I EVER experienced something like this.
I built pro studios for a living for some years and never encountered
This issue. But I'm just gonna find something else to take its place
I love analog boards. Softwares dope but I'm just from a different
era I guess.

I almost bought a Neko years ago. I can't remember what stopped me but I didn't end up with one.

They are dope but I can't say worth the money.
I didn't pay for mine it was kind of
Like a gift. A good friend of
Mine bought it and gave it to me
To learn then while I had it he ended up getting locked up
For like 20 years on some
Fed shit. So I ended up with free neko. I rather buy some
Other things like a new u87 so I can matching sets or some stupid dope
Genelecs or something. For what he paid for the neko cuz its a timbo edition with
Add ons I could of bought an HD rig including cards and 192i/o.
