Hi there guys, once again its me.
I think i'm missing something with the MPC, I always end up exporting the MPC beat to FL Studio and start playing all kinds of stuff over it.. like the bassline, or some synths here and some extra drums there.
But to be honest, this is not what I want, I want this in the MPC itself, because there might be a day I have to take the MPC with me and show off the beat.
But then i'm missing the synths etc. etc.
What i'm trying to say is, when making a beat on the MPC I mostly get stuck on 1 Sequence with 4 bars, using the sample to its max with drums.
And with making a chorus in the beat in Sequence 2 it goes wrong.. because I copy Sequence 1 to Sequence 2, I will delete the main sample and play chops (of the same song) to make a chorus...
After that I go to the Song (pad 16) and let the 2 sequences play after eachother.. they just don't match.. its like 80% of all the time i'm trying to make a pure beat on the MPC 1000 itself instead of using software.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there some trick I can't find?
And another thing by the way, when making a long beat, there needs to be a part where a snare is gone or a hihat, just to keep the beat fresh instead of a long loop.
Is there any easier way to do that instead of copying a whole sequence and delete a snare?
I hope you have the answer for me, it would really get the weight of my shoulders, it's a real pain to do this everytime, also kills the mood.

But I think I know what you mean now. I'm finding some success experimenting with 16 & 32 bar loops. I put each sample, instrument and percussion on a different track. Then I play the whole thing back and use mute tracks to mix things up the way I want. I find the stuff I'm working on right now is a little more interesting because of this approach.
