Nuendo in slave using MTC

You need to use the filter page to make the track only receive on one channel then highlight all the tracks you want the mpc to control.

yeah because When I went to file->Preferences-> midi filter (in the left hand colum. I highlighted all of the numbers (click on the number and it turns blue) and press APPLY (at the bottom) I her no sound from the vsti's. but if I unhighlight lets say channel 1 and press apply it plays......right along with channel 2 which is still highlited. and when I reverse this (highlight channel 1 and unhighlight channel 2) both channels still play

Yes, I know but it does not work with Nuendo 1. In SX, this works.
Problem is, the track selected is receiving MIDI data, filtered or not. Only multi timbral devices seems to work.. Well it should work, obviously, only we donno how

OK this is easy all you have to do is use different channels for each trk
or the Mpc will control the Vst instrument assigned for that midi trk
if the Mpc is the only controller that you have I personally control
6 to seven Vst instuments at one time I just use the Mpc for one
Vst instrument while I use my Keyboard to control all other Vst
instruments and have different channels for each midi trk so I
do not transmit on the same channel.


Now you have to deactivate the yellow speaker if you are not using
that track just activate the speaker for the track that you are using
this speaker is located right next to the red record button on each
midi or audio track so this way you dont get any mixed signals or
the same sound.

I know about the speaker on/off set up but I was hoping that I could play all of the channels at once just using the mpc. The way you would using a sound module like my proteus 2000. What you are talking about I'd have to record the track in Nuendo First one at a time before I could hear them play seperate notes at the same time. Is what you are talking about the only way it works in Nuendo?

Well I have tried to use other Vst's with the Mpc but it will only allow me
to use one when I try to use 2 or more it keeps playing the one Vst instrument which I intially chose. So my suggestion is to keep experi-
menting like I do alot but use different mid channels for each Vst this
may help also try using a different channel for the MP also I guess
being in slave mode it stays locked on that 1 Vst instrument so thats
why I go to my keyboard for all the other Vst's to control them.

So when you use your keyboard as a direct controller to the VSTs with out running it through the mpc evrything works as it should

But I want to use the MPC as a sequencer with different parts.. This aint possible than?

I need help with this badly.

1 start nuendo
2 go to file and choose new project then choos empty
3 select the folder you want to save your project to.
4 create a midi track
5 you will see this ( L-> ) above the little @ in the inspector (click it this L-> )
6 choose local and a large window will pop up called the input transformer.
7since this will be channel one you will set it like this
click on add line tab
click on filter target and choose (channel)
in the condition tab choose (unequal)
in the parimiter tab choose ( 1) this is going to be channe one.
where it says select module tick (1)
where it says ative module tick (1)
where it says mode pick (filter)
NOTE: you must do this to every midi channel.
the only thing that should changed is the (parameter tab)
since this was midi channel one the parameter was set to one.
midi channel 2 will have the parameter set to two and so on.
I hope you understand it...and if you do all 16 channels save it as a template so you
wont have to type it all in again.
now, on the mpc where it says track -01 change drum1 to midi.
you will notice that to the right of the word midi it says :OFF change off to 1A-device 01.
go back to nuendo and load up a midi instrument like you would normally on the first miditrack you set up..
you should (if you have your midicable set up correctly) hear the midi instrument
in nuendo while hitting the pads on the mpc.
now on the mpc change the track to track 2 and select midi and 2A-device-02
and select another midid track in nuendo with a differnt instrument and you should now have both instruments play on its
own channel indipendently..

and I think you can figuer out the rest.
