How would I route my midi connection for this setup?

I've never midi'd up more than 2 things at once so here's what I have.


Octatrack
Maschine
Motif xs
Ableton live 8 with a audio interface

I want the octatrack to be the master sequencer and everything to slave off that.

I know your a vet but maybe this page can help a bit.
MIDI THRU one of the devices maybe, a midi patchbay or small midi device with more ports of some sort..

since live can sync to external sequencer and have option in configuration to select which midi devices you want to sync...I'd connect it all separately to your midi interace and have live act as a middle man. I'm not sure if this is correct way of doing it or not, but it's working out in my setup.

downfall to that is that you gotta power everything on if and keep live open for it to work as there is no direct midi connection between devices.
