Do some websearch of your own. All this info is already on the forum somewhere.
When the AMIC (AKAI professional Musical Instrument Corp.) closed, the Japanese co-owners stepped in and tried to keep the company running under the name AKAI Professional. Which went bankrupt and was then bought by Jack O'Donnell. Jack O'Donnell, being the owner of Numark, ALESIS, ION Audio and other companies.
This guy is right, lol, Grande holdings also picked up Singer, according to my 5 mins of research, a sewing company, so that might suggest they wanted to do the elctronic game but not pro audio, and as for their GH, they still own Akai according to their website so that would probably not be Akai Pro, which is ya like all subsidary style with Alesis and Numark, hence thins like SR18/XR20, or some new MixDeck MPD thing they had at Namm this year.
Now you can mix decks and pad smash all at once, all we need now is the EWI attachment so I can play all those sweet clarinet riffs I've wanted to live awe ye, its about the presidents that represent me
