Yes, you are correct about the MPC3000 - it does create 26 partitions always. I assumed that you were talking about having an MPC2000XL because we are in the MPC2000/MPC2000XL forum.

And yes, both operating systems (Windows and OSX) will only show you the first partition of any removable media like Zip, Jaz, CF cards, tape cartridges. Only fixed media like hard drives allow access to all partitions.

So you can access all partitions if you use an IDE -> CF adaptor in a PowerMac/MacPro or PC?

Not to my knowlegde, no. The IDE adapter will still be identified as a removable drive.

I'm helping a friend with his 2000XL with a Zip250 drive. I had to pull out and dust off my old internal Zip250 and connect it to my MBP via a IDE tp USB adapter. Having problems using the FAT formatted Zip disks from my MBP on his 2KXL.
I looked for Zip drivers online but none of them work with Snow Leopard.
Anything I'm missing???

yeah, IDE to USB drivers are a pain in the ass. I would just scoop a usb ready zip drive and just plug and play. But my Macbook Pro running 10.6.8 reads FAT32 fine from my USB drive, but I take the disks out of the scsi drive and transfer that way.Zip250 sucks balls in compatibility and stability too.
