Yo. I recently bough a mpc 1000 and i started making some beats. but eventually i have to record the songs into my Imac.

So anybody knows any simple way to record from mpc 1000 into my Imac without loosing any sound quality ( and wich software is suitable for the job ) I have audacity atm. Ive been watching vids and tutorials on utube but they seem to have like this crazy setup and plugin into several boxes.

My gear atm is a SL 1200 + an old pioneer mixer + mpc 1000 + m-audio keyrig 49 wich i bough today, so if any has a software recomendation for my midi keyboard aswell i would appriciate.

I appriciate all help i can get but keep in mind im pretty newbie with music gear and setup so explaining it on a basic level is the best :)

Thanks in advance T.A

What you need is a soundcard allowing you to plug the output of your mpc into the input of the soundcard allowing you iMac to record it. You can either buy a multiple channel soundcard so you can make use of the 4 individual outs of the mpc or get a single input sound card and mute each channel whilst recording. For software I wouldent use audacity. If you've got an iMac get logic and connect the mpc to it with midi cables. You then need to setup midi time code on both logic and your mpc which will mean when you hit record in logic it will play your mpc allowing correct tracking.
I know Alesis do good cheap mixing desk USB/FireWire soundcards.
As for your keyboard controler again get logic it comes with a stack of great plugins, sounds and audio units
