im more scared of being so deep in a beat and the thing freezes on me must save constantly.
saving constantly is always good practice.
in the off chance that any of my software hangs on me (temporarily) i always have that lurch of terror...."how much time did i just lose? will i be able to recreate what i just did? was my autosave active (in reaper)?"
one reason why jjos of various versions freezes VERY RARELY for me is because i am mostly in modes that i have tested
exhaustively...drum/midi grid, MAIN, seq edit, GPE, and usually TRIM/SLICE. i have worn a bug-free path to and from my needed functions in those modes. i can only recommend that others do the same in the functions they use most. it takes time, but it is absolutely worth it as you influence development in a way that is extremely relevant to your own particular workflow.
over the last couple months, i have been in the polishing/tracking stage of my songs - finishing sequencing/deep editing and then exporting my songs. this means i have not been spending as much time in TRIM/SLICE, for instance. as mentioned, there are several bugs in destructive slice that have been reported. i receive a couple more in PM yesterday - reported those and heard back from the jj team already. a part of me wishes they'd expand the operation and bring another programmer into the fold.
i'm looking forward to the next update, mostly because i'm extremely excited to start a new song for the first time in maybe 5 months.
