s-900 question. locks on boot

Hey I have a 900 Im working on over here and wondering if anyone can direct me in the right direction. This one was pretty bad and had a number of issues (blown fuse, some connection issues (all lights flashing), power button connection issue, and of course a backlight out. anyway I got all that under control. Now I boot more normally but it hangs on boot and says "akai s900 version 1,2". Any idea where to start on this? Ive tried a floppy drive, psu, and some dif cables without much change. I have a few part machines but Im low on some parts (without messing with my good units). I dont have an extra voice board but that doesnt seem like the issue. I tried a different main board but I got all lights on with that board, and it is suspect anyway. any ideas? Thanks

Corrupted boot disc? Faulty RAM? Simply an abused machine?

na, not those. more like the controller chip for the floppy,but I havent had much time to look at it the last few days. Once in the past I got the same error with a backwards ribbon cable, but thats not the case this time, either.

Sound pretty beat up, sometimes the smart thing to do is pass, and find one in better condition.

na, this is what i do. I have many of them and they are always beat up. sadly this one is actually in pretty good shape compared to most. Im really close on it, i was just looking for info others might have run into. Ill work on it tmrw.
