Mudguard recording acoustic guitar?

I just got a mudguard, microphone isolater thing, for Christmas and I was wondering if it should just be used for vocals, or if I should also use it to record an acoustic guitar. My studio is a bedroom with a pretty large window, so it doesn't have a very good sound to it.

I've noticed a friend of mine who has an electric acoustic uses it in both electric & acoustic mode.

The plug in mode obviously has a more direct sound as opposed to it being mic'd and isolated. But when its closed mic'd, especially with any sort of isolation devices (which varies depending on what you use) has a certain ambiance that resembles the direct sound, but better.

I say better based on the room dynamics, but this can vary on user settings/preference. We found isolating the mic just after the upper frets seems to yield the best results.

yeah do this, or up by the guitar players head. should yeild good results without to much effort.
