hi there
iv got a beat running now with no more than 6 tacks in each sequence but whenever i tried to record a new track of some hi hats, by tapping out the hi hats would simultaneously cut out 1 of my other tracks for about 2 seconds of its running time.
hope this makes sense and anyone has a clue what this might be

Maybe there's a poly/mono/note off program setting somewhere you didn't set correctly?

Hmm, could be one of several things. I would suggest checking all of your program parameters, including Mute Group assignment, Poly/Mono settings, etc... I'm not one of those "just check the manual" guys, but in this case it may make sense to review the Program section of the book. I have solved many weird sample/track cutoff errors by going over that section. Good Luck!

haha, Lampdog! Didn't see your response to this and then I pretty much said the same thing. Sorry to duplicate your answer :-)

Are you by any chance using a lot of long samples in busy sequences ?
If so, you may be exceeding the polyphony of the machine .
