suggestions

yo peoples im going to be moving in about a week or so........anyone have any suggestions on how to pack records for a move?

have any of yall done this - moved from one crib to the next with all your records?

i had a few when i moved into my current place but i've aquired quite a bit more since so i'm wondering how imma pull this off...........

any suggestions would be appreciated

I'd go down to office depot or staples and buy file folder boxes. they 're only like seven bucks for six boxes.

yeah i would say look for boxes,

but i have not ran into that problem yet cause i still use milk creates,try going to kmart or walmart and get some of those plastic storage bins and fill those and handcart them out if they get to heavy.

if you're in the tristate area, i'm guessing weather might be an issue. i'm in california, so i don't know but if it's freezing where you are you might want to make sure your records don't get too cold.

when i move i keep my record boxes in the cab of my truck with me.

also, when you box your records, put garbage records you don't care about on the edges of the box... those are the most likely to get damaged (but if you take any care at all, you shouldn't have any damage.

also, this should be a no-brainer but make sure when you put the records in the box, the sleeve openings are toward the side of the box, NOT the top or the bottom. this will help avoid vinyl spillage during unpacking.

i think im going to look into the plastic storage bins - i have roughly 1500 records i think - i never numbered 'em but i think i have about that many

I used Wine boxes. They seem to fit 40-50 each.

use a dolly, and an elevator if you can.

Use boxes and just tape the fuk out of all the corners and the middle to re-enforce. When they in the box use garbage bags to cover incase it rain, hail, shyts what ever. good luck
