Converting S950 samples on the S1000

When you load 950 sounds on the 1000 it converts them from 12 to 16 bit. Does this affect the sound at all? I can't tell by ear so I'm assuming it doesn't. I prefer editing on the 1000 since its got a better display and visual editing, but I'm not sure if I'm ruining the sound quality by swapping the same sound through both machines?

Also, has anybody compared the filters on both units?
