Bug fixes & Addition: 128XL Ver1.15 08-JAN-2013
----------------------------------------------------------------
1. [RECORD]

The sample recorded when the recorded sample was renamed and F5 (KEEP) was performed is lost.

2. [TRIM]

If the start or end of a sample which DISCARD(ed) is changed, it will not be playing back correctly.

3. [SONG]

As for execution of F3 (MixDown), a sequence will not be playing back smoothly.

<<Addition>>
MIDI FILTER addition

You can filter out specific MIDI events that are being input from the MIDI IN terminal.

cool. i know people have wanted a midi filter for a while. no more sneaky "all note off" messages from my DAW...

This fix is priceless to my workflow.

All JJ has to fix now is the ability to OVERDUB or RECORD while in the new GPE mode (In the mode of [MODE]+PAD7).
This would let me hear the metronome ticks while I am tuning the sample WITHOUT using the QLink in the MAIN screen.

This OS is amazing.
Every update is happening so fast IMO.

i have wanted someone to make a simple VST plugin that controls a sample's playback rate (forwards and backwards) using hi-resolution pitchbend data with user-determined and independent forward/reverse playback speeds

out of curiosity, why do you want to hear the the metronome in GPE? are you tuning phrase samples and trying to find their tempo?

Yes. I fine tune with Tune to nudge, say 2 bar sample, with the metronome. You know, matching snares.
I pretty much Tune the sample on the fly to match the ticks of the metronome. I try this technique first then, if this doesn't work, I chop choppity chop.
And well, if I have to Tune the f.ck out of the sample until it sounds like a cow dying or a chipmunk, I will time stretch and then fine "Tune" again.
Then I add drums and etc.

Does this make sense?

You could also set the desired tempo record the phrase then just tune it until it matches whatever tempo you're trying to get it to. If i'm understanding you correctly.

Hope that helps

i mentioned the issue of overdub/GPE to the JJ team. it behaves the way it does -- turning off overdub in GPE -- for an underlying, to prevent a different issue from happening.

however, i get the issue - here's what i would recommend.
since setting a loop sample (with multiple hit points in one wav) is often a one time thing, create a track in a higher track number (16) and use it as a metronome track. record a noise or hat sample at every quater note, or eight note or whatever interval you want. save this as an autoload project, maybe.

then, when you want to tune your sample to fit the tempo, unmute this track. this would be easier and more user friendly than turning the "real" metronome on/off in the CLICK page.

Nym,
Thanks for this workaround. It will be no problem to implement.

As of right now, I have no more requests for 128xl. In my world, this OS is complete.

this is, by and large, the best update yet. all my chopping gripes have seemingly been fixed.

one gripe is in program mode, when trying to change the volume of all the samples, it resets any changes you made, and makes all the samples uniform volume. before, you could select all of the samples, manipulate the volume, and the samples would retain their original settings.

Have to add that the new update is very good. The OS doesnt seem shakey anymore and there is no audio drops when i go into program screen thats awesome.
