problem with midi key ..

hallo all

i connect my midi key boart to the MIDI in off my 2K. it plays

wen i press key number 2 it plays the sample wat i gut on pad 1 and wen i pud it on pad 2 key 1 will play it ...

if i sat a track from drum to midi the keyboard will play no sound from my mpc..

what should I do wen i wont play one sound from my mpc with my key board like the 16 lvl option (basses for example) ?

16 lvl is not midi.

i know ..i mien that the sample get play higher wen wen i go up on the keyboard.. lige i real piano ... for example i sample a C from my vst piano and i play it from c to g with my midi keyboard ..

i gut the classic not the xl

and in the xl Manuel is bei side 117 "Chapter 6: Creating and Editing Sounds" ....

then you have to do manual chromatic assignment.

assign sample to pad. set tune to 0.
assign same sample to next pad up and assign tune to +10.
repeat (adding +10 each time, 10, 20, 30, 40, etc)

assign same sample to pads before the 'root' (tuning at 0) and set tuning to -10.
repeat (doing -10 each time, -10, -20, -30, -40 etc)

make sure your midi notes are set in increments of 1 too, by default they are all over the place.

do this once, then save the program as a template and you wont have to do it each time, just assign samples.

i dont know about anyone else but im confused, can you please state one more time what you would like todo? Ill give it a shot though and we can go from there.

To start off, the reason your keys & pads dont line up is the mpc's non linear layout of notes. In other words the note assignments are all over the place.

heres a link to how things are laid out, you can see its not in a logical order.
So you will need to either search the forums for a program already modified to have a linear note layout. Or do it yourself, which wouldnt take more than 10 minutes.. then you can save it for future use.

In terms of your 16 levels question, you cannot trigger samples in different pitches from an external keyboard. Unless you replicate the pad in a different pitch to create the "16 levels pitch" on your own.

yeah thats the problem! you want to change them so they are in order, instead of out of order.

see how bank A goes: 37, 36, 42, 82.... You want to change it too in order 36,37,38,39....

it is very easy on an xl.
just do it once and save the pgm template and will be a lot easier next time.

I think on the XL if you make a chromatic layout starting at note # 36 you'll not be able to assign pad 16 in Bank D. I think you need to start at #37 to be able to assign the 64th pad. (I use 2 JJ machines too and all my software is mapped to start at # 36 so this drives me nuts when everything is off by 1 pad, controlling Battery, Geist etc.)

im not sure this is true: 36 + 64 (even if 36 was pad a01) even still leaves plenty of room for all midi note numbers (pads would be midi notes 36-100).

what does happen is the tuning doesn't go all the way...if you leave root at pad c01 (the middle of the range), then your tuning maxes out at pad d09 (and up) and pad a08 (and down)

so... i change the numbers and asign all pads with the tune and save it ... bud the classic can user only one program...

Pad A01 on the xl starts with 35 through to 98 on D16.
