There's nothing wrong asking questions like yours when you're brand new to sampling. Who the **** are we to judge you? Learn as many techniques as you can,
then you'll be able be able to break new ground.
BTW doing the inverse of what does Krit in that track is gonna get you into Lord Quas territory. Was it done before Madlib?
Sure was, even if the method was different the result was similar. Can you make it new & fresh? That's up to your imagination & our reaction.
Right now I'm messing around with an idea for a beat using similar techniques to chop & screw to get a totally different outcome. Don't want to share the ideas right here. PM me if you want to find out one more opinion on mixed techniques making original/different sounds.
