I agree %100

The Ren can pitch a whole program.

Here's two other really simple things:

1- Being able to put a space between words when naming a program.

2- Being able to easily preview the samples in the Project Information box.

Freeze vsts and better vst overall handling

the main reason I use the ren with my daw is because the ren is instable with alot of vsts, effects and instruments.

some better midi handling and setting up when using the ren as a plugin whould also be nice. or maybe just a guide

An global automation track in song mode so that you can automate parameters like cutoff etc. And in this automation track you can automate all desired parameters of all tracks. This would be helpful if you have to automate different cutoff parts in a song...

But it doesn't seem to be able to automate it, does it...

It actually does. You just have to understand how MPCs function.

If you want to 'tune' and entire program and 'automate' it, you would use an MPC Key group program and Qlinks.

Automation of MPC Drum Programs are accomplished on the Ren the same way as most (if not all) hardware MPCs. The entire program is not automated. Real time automation and note variation is accomplished per pad using Qlinks. I have to emphasize this as forum members want to Ren to be like a hardware MPC one minute and something completely different the next. The Ren performs exactly like hardware MPCs in this regard plus it has a few extras.

Ouch... You lost me there :( I understand keygroups the way it is explained in the manual (you take one note of an instrument, and by making a keygroup with it, that note spreads throughout all the banks), but using a keygroup with a program to simulate tuning automation on a whole program is... What!?!

Thanks anyway, JAH. Much appreciated.

The 4000 can automate a whole program (drum or keygroup) using Q-links... it's a useful function to have. :smoker:

Man, this is bugging me since the beginning of having the software, the firmware on the mpc is WHACK. it would be DOPE if they could let you zoom on it (zoom in in general with the ren, also on the firmware showing the time line curser so you can chop the sample would be a great advantage!
By apricotandpearjam Fri Jan 18, 2013 11:17 pm
im with you on the zoom... like it used to be on the old hardware!!!

i also wish the scroll wheel worked like the old scroll wheels used to work.

on old hardware you could go to sample start/end and move the scroll wheel slower and faster depending on how quick you wanted to scroll... now it simply doesn't do that... it just scroll SUPER slow...

you are FORCED to use the encoders or q-links wheels...

i dont like using these because i always forget which one does what and b because on the studio you have to navigate to the column you want the q-link wheels to affect...

i WISH they would just make the scroll wheel work like it used to... it would make sample editing so much more simple... LIKE IT USED TO....

its like they have OVER engineered it and therefore complicated it..

PLEASE BRING THIS BACK AKAI!
