Foot pedals.

Is there a way to use a foot pedal like the dude in this

Reading the manual, it says the foot pedal acts like a pad,
but searching the forums, mofos are saying that you can only have
an on/off type function from the pedal. (To trigger long samples it seems)

My question is; is it possible to use a foot pedal like it was an actual
bass drum/ hi hat pedal? ie: tap it once to trigger the sound, but not have
to tap it again to switch the sound off, before tapping it again?

Or is this how it works and I misunderstood?

I want to play it like it was a real drum kit, live, make sense?

Have you tried asking in the thread that you posted? A few of them have seen it, and commented, so they may be able to help you out better. Personally, I've never seen that before. DOPE!

Yeah i thought about it, but that thread is full of 'whoa' and 'damn' so it seems more relevant to post it here as a seperate subject. More likely to get a proper response.

Trust your manual. You can do it either way. If you set up your sounds properly, you can either trigger a sample while you hold the pedal (Note Off), or just tap it to play completely (One Shot). You can even use it to play a closed Hi Hat that cuts off an open one you played with your hand for example.

Which MPC are you looking at exactly?

if i can find a cheap enough footswitch, im going for it. Ive been playing real drums lately, so i think it would be dope to incorporate my feet with the mpc.

I use a Boss FS-6 on my MPC5k for this....works perfect.
