MPC Studio and Pro Tools

Anyone having luck using the mpc software inside of pro tools? I can't make a beat in pro tools. I have to make them outside using the mpc software in standalone mode. Then go into pro tools and load it. This is a PITA cause I like to sometimes start with instruments, and loop my chord progression, then pick drums that sound good with it.

I get a lot of errors when trying to use the mpc software inside pro tools as an instrument plugin. Sometimes it freezes everything up all together. Other instrument plugins work just fine.

How's everyone elses experiences been? I'm thinking about returning this thing, unfortunately.

I can make a beat with the Ren/Studio inserted into Pro Tools 10. However, it is less than ideal. Both of them are 32 bit apps and can quickly eat up your computer's resources when used together depending on what you are trying to accomplish.

Is it possible to make your drum beat in the mpc software and also control my korg m3 with the software, pointing the software midi channels to different midi channels on the korg? basically this is how it used to work on fully hardware mpc's, right? I had a mpc 1000 that I sold to buy the studio and that's how I had it setup...just wondering if it can be done. so far I am not a big fan of this software...

then I wouldn't use pro tools until I was ready to track everything out or to do further sequencing/edting

Go to your mpc software preferenes and make sure you're sending midi out on the appropriate channel, like any hardware mpc, go to a track and switch it to midi, then select channels 1-16

then what do I do with the audio from the m3? how can I record it into the computer?

how do you guys use this thing? maybe I need to adjust my workflow...I was so used to making the beat on the mpc/triton and then just tracking/editing in pro tools...I'd use pro tools as the master midi device, and it was so easy to record into pro tools that way...

I think I am experiencing better performance of the MPC Renaissance Plugin within Pro tools since updating to 1.4 last night. Anyone else notice this?

Not that it was bad before, its just that when I had my Command 8 and MPC working with pro tools 10, 1024 samples was the smallest buffer I could use for smooth operation (on my RME FF800).

But I just did the 1.4 update last night and it seemed all good at 512 samples. I'll test even smaller buffer settings when I get home this evening.....

Was there a specific thing they worked on in this update that may have directly or indirectly optimized its operation in Pro Tools 10?
